On November 30th, Well-known Chinese and Foreign Enterprises’ Visit to Sichuan 2023 Investment Promotion Conference and Project Cooperation Agreement Signing Ceremony, themed "Splendid Sichuan: A Highland for Opening Up", was grandly held in Chengdu. Song Xin, Party Secretary and Chairman of CECEP, was invited to attend the event and delivered a keynote speech.

He expressed that under the convergence of major national strategies such as the new western land-sea corridor, western development in new era, the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin, and the Belt and Road Initiative, the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government adhere to the integrated protection and systematic governance of mountains, rivers, forests, farmlands, lakes, grasslands and deserts, and uphold the concept of scientific planning for building a beautiful Sichuan. This provides a rare opportunity for more energy-saving and environmental protection enterprises to invest in Sichuan. In the next step, CECEP will fully leverage the leading role of central enterprises, take advantage of Sichuan's favorable business environment, and combine its own professional advantages to carry out extensive and pragmatic cooperation in areas such as the construction of green and low-carbon industrial parks, ecological restoration and governance, clean energy development and utilization, and solid waste treatment. It will increase investment in Sichuan, leverage more resources to gather in Sichuan, and work together with all sectors of society to promote the green, low-carbon and high-quality development of Sichuan's economy and society.

During his visit to Sichuan, Song Xin paid a visit to Huang Qiang, Governor of Sichuan Province, and held working discussions with Wang Fengchao, Mayor of Chengdu City. They communicated and exchanged views on deepening cooperation between CECEP and Sichuan Province, as well as Chengdu City, in the field of energy conservation and environmental protection. Song Xin also visited Siemens Chengdu Lighthouse Factory for inspection and exchange. 

In an interview with Cover News, Song Xin mentioned that CECEP has established more than 20 subsidiary companies in various cities in Sichuan, covering multiple sectors such as ecological and environmental governance, green construction, green materials and wind power generation. They have implemented nearly 30 energy-saving and environmental protection projects with a total investment amount exceeding 11.8 billion RMB. Sichuan has become the most important region for CECEP investment layout in the western part of China.

CECEP will fully leverage its role as the main platform for pollution control in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the monitoring center for energy conservation and emission reduction of central enterprises, and the think tank for carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. It will integrate the needs of Sichuan with the capabilities of CECEP, further increase investment in Sichuan, strive to build benchmark zero-carbon industrial parks in Sichuan Province, expand regional clean energy supply businesses, and promote the implementation of ecological environmental restoration, clean energy and modern agriculture in Sichuan.
